QUALIFICATIONS

College Chemistry Teacher Years 6-12 (IGCSE/IB/A Level)
Applications are invited from qualified international candidates to the following posts available within the American Education Consortium member k-12 institutions (Nursery, Elementary School and College (composed of Secondary School and High School – up to 12th grade)).


The American College is a private ECIS and FEDE member K12 institution composed of nursery, elementary and college situated in Kyrenia and Nicosia in Cyprus. The American College offers training in International Baccalaureate system as well as the British IGCSE system, offering training up to and including A- Levels. The American College offers an international work setting and a competitive compensation package. 

Salary bands will be dependent on the experience, references and qualifications. Applicants must hold a recognized University Degree in a related field and have a minimum 3 years of experience in the relevant field with a Pedagogy certificate. 

All Teacher positions advertised are to commence as of September 2019.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Present lessons in a comprehensive manner and use visual/audio means to facilitate learning
  • Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning
  • Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments etc.)
  • Assess and record students’ progress and provide grades and feedback
  • Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom
  • Collaborate with other teachers, parents and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings
  • Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities and events
  • Observe and understand students’ behavior and psyche and report suspicions of neglect, abuse etc.
  • Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences etc.
