About Us:

The Home Café by Home for Cooperation – Nicosia’s unique Café located on the ground floor of the Home for Cooperation building, brings people together from all around the world.

At The Home Café, coffee is always freshly roasted and goes along perfectly with the delicious homemade snacks, in a cosy atmosphere. It is an ideal place to study, read, have a meeting, and organize an event.

In addition to healthy dessert and snack options, The Home Café provides catering services for bookings at the Home for Cooperation as well as for activities taking place in other venues located in and around the Ledra Palace area, Buffer Zone.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, including espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, and iced drinks.

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the menu and enthusiastically explain offerings to customers.

  • Operate and care for coffee equipment, ensuring it is clean and functioning properly.

  • Manage the point-of-sale system, accurately handle cash and card transactions, and ensure correct billing.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the cafe, including preparation and customer seating areas.

  • Participate in ongoing training to expand coffee knowledge and refine barista skills.

  • Collaborate with team members to achieve the cafe's goals and contribute to a positive workplace environment.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a barista or in a related role is preferred.

  • Passion for coffee and a willingness to learn about its preparation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively with both customers and colleagues.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

  • Flexibility to work weekends and variable shifts as required.

  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Greek or Turkish is an advantage.
